A Quick Bit About Us

Beech Hill Community was formed in 1983. The community is a housing co-operative with 17 adults and a three year old baby living in a variety of accommodations. We all live together in a large country house set in the rural heart of Devon between Dartmoor and Exmoor.

We do not have any specific religious, spiritual or political ideology but we do try to have an awareness of the impact our activities have on the environment. By thinking and acting cooperatively we aim to create unusual opportunities for ourselves and others, which improve the real quality of being and sharing and so enhance the circumstances in which we live. Visiting Us

Community Experience Weekends

If you're interested in learning more about life at Beech Hill or simply want to explore the beautiful Devon countryside, consider joining us for a Community Experience Weekend (CEW). These weekends are thoughtfully designed to give you a deeper understanding of community living and what it means to be part of the Beech Hill Community Co-operative. We typically host 4-6 CEWs each year, offering a unique opportunity to experience our way of life firsthand. For more details, please visit the Events page.

Volunteering

We regularly host volunteers to help us through WWOOF, HelpX and Diggers and Dreamers, to share our lovely space, skills and experiences and to enable people to see what living in a community is like. There are opportunities for both short term and long term volunteering. Please refer to the Volunteering page for more information.

Camping

We run a low key campsite which is ideal for people walking the Two Moors Way. Facilities include solar showers, compost toilets and a camp kitchen. We also rent out this space for larger groups. For bookings and inquiries please email - bookingsbeechhill@gmail.com
